STRAWBERRY LEAF TEA

One of the best things I learned this year is to never throw away my strawberry tops again! During the Summer you can make this tea and then chill it! It quenches thirst like no other! During the Winter you can make this tea, and it will keep you warm. The taste is just as delicious as the strawberries themselves.  Also the benefits for your health are truly amazing. Considering it even fights cancer!

Organic strawberry leaf tea is a great option for those who want to keep their antioxidant levels topped up and are looking for a caffeine-free alternative to green tea or black tea. A study that was  published in the Czech Journal of Food Sciences found that a water extract of wild/organic strawberry leaves had the strongest antioxidant activity among tested herb and berry extracts, as measured by DPPH free radical scavenging ability. This study assessed the antioxidant activity of water extracts of 17 medicinal herbs and berries, including oregano tops, blackberry leaves, raspberry leaves, rosehips, thyme tops, nettle flowers, mint, elderflowers, linden flowers, chamomile flowers, blueberries, rowan berries and sea-buckthorn berries. That is pretty amazing antioxidant capabilities if I don't say so myself.

Organic and Wild strawberry  leaves contain ellagic acid!

You may have already heard of ellagic acid, a compound that has been shown to neutralize cancer-causing substances, boost the immune system, and induce apoptosis (self-destruction) of cancerous cells. Wild and organic strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, pomegranates, and cranberries are perhaps the most famous food sources of ellagic acid, but also some edible leaves – including the strawberry leaves and black berry leaves have been shown to contain this powerful anti-cancer compound. There are many more benefits to this tea. Ellagic acid also is a powerful antioxidant, helps acne, is a potent anti-bacterial, fights fungus, protects the liver, is heart healthy, reduces birth defects, and of coarse, as stated earlier fights against cancer.

How to make strawberry leaf tea:

Simply save the strawberry tips that you cut off. Be sure they are still ripe when making it. If they are not ripe, or you think that you won't be able to keep them ripe, you can dry them or freeze them for later use. When ready, just put the whole batch of tips into a soup pot and add 6 to 8 cups of filtered water. You can also make it with other teas. I made the batch above with mint tea. Yum! Strawberry mint tea. It is perfectly delicious all by itself as well.  Bring to a boil and then add sweetener of choice. The sweetener that is the most alkaline is raw organic honey. I use 2 tbsps. Just sweeten to your taste. It's ready when the water has turned pink, and the strawberries have lost some of their color.

    ALKALINE ZUCCHINI SPAGHETTI

This is the most amazing and delicious recipe. I love making meals that are so full of health, that even if you eat too much, you feel so satisfied. You don't feel heavy, or weighed down. You feel clean, and energetic!

    INGREDIENTS (ALL ORGANIC):

    • 1/2 RED ONION
    • 1/2 JALAPENO PEPPER
    • 1 WHOLE GREEN ZUCCHINI
    • 1/2 BELL PEPPER
    • 10 BABY CARROTS
    • 3 GARLIC CLOVES
    • 1 BUNCH SPINACH
    • 4 TSP NUTRITIONAL YEAST
    • 1/2 CUP ALKALINE WATER
    • 1/2 CAN TOMATO PASTE (8 OZ. CAN)
    • 1 CAN FIRE ROASTED DICED TOMATOS
    • 1 LEAF FRESH BASIL
    • 1 TSP HIMILAYEN SEA SALT
    • 1/2 TSP WILDTREE HEARTY SPAGHETTI SAUCE SEASONING (OR YOUR FAVORITE SEASONINGS OF CHOICE)
    • 1 TBLSP OF WILDTREE GARLIC GRAPESEED OIL (OR COCONUT OIL, OLIVE OIL, AVOCADO OIL, OR FLAX OIL)

    FOR THE SAUCE:

Chop up all of the vegetables. Add the oil to the pan and cook on medium heat. Throw in all of the veggies, (except for the zucchini) add the garlic and spinach last. I like to smash and chop up the garlic, but you can mince it if you like. I usually add the onions, bell peppers, jalapenos and carrots first. Then add the garlic and spinach. Cook until the spinach shrinks. For the zucchini, I used a special grater that I got on
Amazon. I also have a pampered chef knife that makes the zucchini noodles, and a spiralizer. Any one of those will work to make the zucchini noodles. I go all the way down on each side until I hit the middle. Then I chop up the middle part and add it to the sauté. I steam the zucchini noodles for 10 minutes. Add the 1/2 can of tomato paste, water and canned tomatoes. (Please be aware that it is best to use fresh tomatoes. Canned foods, even organic lose alkaline. If you are fighting cancer or a serious disease it is best not to use canned or frozen foods. Fresh is best.) Simmer for an hour. When the sauce is done, take half of it and blend it if you don't like big chunky vegetables. If you do, then don't worry about it. Sprinkle with a pinch of nutritional yeast. Sprinkle with sea salt and ground pepper to taste. Enjoy!!

OOPS, NOW IT'S ALKALINE BERRY BANANA BREAD!

Has this ever happened to you? You decide to follow a super healthy recipe for, in this case, waffles. You have all the alkaline, or healthy ingredients for it, except for maybe the baking soda. So, you substitute and you add and subtract things. You take all the pictures in order to show the awesome recipe later.

And so, your new recipe adventure begins. Here are the ingredients I used to make waffles. That didn't work, and then I tweaked them to make them banana bread with berries.

    ALL ORGANIC INGREDIENTS:

    • 2 CUPS ALMOND FLOWER
    • 1/4 CUP COCONUT FLOUR
    • 2 CHIA EGGS (SOAK 2 TBL SPOONS OF CHIA SEEDS IN 1/2 CUP OF WATER. WHEN IT IS THE CONSISTACY OF EGG WHITES IT IS READY)
    • 1 TBLSP. ORGANIC LEMON GRAPE SEED OIL (I USED WILDTREE, THIS INGREDIENT IS NOT NECCESSARY)
    • 2 TBLSP. COCOUT OIL
    • 1 CAN LITE COCONUT MILK
    • 1 TSP. CINNAMON
    • 3 TBLSP. RAW HONEY
    • 1/2 TSP. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
    • 1 PINCH HIMILAYEN SEA SALT
    • 2 RIPE BANANAS
    • 1 SHREDDED APPLE
    • 1 TSP SHREDDED LEMON PEEL

Pre- heat the oven at 350 degrees and set the timer for 1 hour. Turn on your favorite song and turn it up loud. The one I am listening to is Paul Simon Have a Good Time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVwTbWmOsfw. I also am listening to this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLcmtBA-W_s Put on your apron  ( If you don't have an apron, it's time to get one.) Here is my apron:
Combine all ingredients and whisk with a fork. If it seems too watery add more coconut flour until it seems to be a good consistency. Pour into a baking banana bread pan, lined with parchment paper. Time may vary depending on oven. To know it is done put a knife in the middle. If the batter is done it will come right out without batter. Set the time and then relax. I didn't relax today, because it started off as waffles, and then I tried to make them pancakes. Then I perfected the ingredients, and now these are the ingredients for this banana bread. I wasn't gonna fail. I made it work for something! It worked for this!! I didn't get mad, I just turned up the music and made it a masterpiece. Sometimes we just need to do that. If you are always in the kitchen, your food becomes your art work. You share your art work with the people you love!! The people you love, encourage you and lift you up when they taste your goodness.

    HOW TO PREPARE IT:

YOU HAVE TO GRAIT YOUR APPLE AND LEMON ZEST. JUST POUR IT ALL TOGETHER AND WHISK IT. IT'S THAT SIMPLE. YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE IMPOSSIBLE OF WHAT I WENT THROUGH. IT REALLY CAN BE EASY. HEALTH IS EASY. SOMETIMES WE ACCIDENTALLY MAKE IT DIFFICULT.

    FRUIT INFUSED GREEN TEA

Green Teas Benefits make it an amazing healing drink. A good way to add even more benefits is by adding some of your favorite fruits to infuse into it. Here are some of the many benefits of Green Tea.

    BENEFITS:

    • FIGHTS CANCER
    • PROTECTS AGAINST HEART DISEASE
    • LOWERS CHOLESTEROL
    • PREVENTS DIABETES
    • GIVES HEALTH TO YOUR SKIN
    • CONTAINS ANTIOXIDENTS
    • ANTI VIRAL AGENTS
    • PREVENTS BAD BREATH
    HISTORY:

If one were to study green tea in any detail, rather than finding a discovery of one story in history you will find many stories of how it was used. Green teas history has many different versions. After studying all of the different stories about Green tea, I saw how they first started using it over 3000 years ago. They say that the use of the tea leaves first originated in the southwest area of China. When they first discovered it they used it for chewing and eating, in just the same way coffee beans were used by the Ethiopians. They ate the coffee beans before they learned to brew it.

The real history of green tea dates back to the 8th century. when the method of steaming the leaves to release  their oxidation was discovered.  In the 12th century a new frying method called “fixing” the leaves was introduced.  Both of these processes resulted in teas that have the characteristic of an un-oxidized taste and appearance compared to modern day green teas. Today both processes are still in use.  Since those early days, as the popularity and production of green tea increased the methods of producing green tea has continuously evolved and improved.

HOW TO INFUSE FRUIT INTO YOUR GREEN TEA:

Just cut up your favorite fruit. I used pineapple, blackberries, oranges, and
raspberries. Pour some filtered water into a pan. Put a tea bag per cup of water. I used 4 cups of water and 4 tea bags. Pour the fruit into the water as well. Turn on the stove top and cook on med-high heat until it is almost at a boil. Then let steep. I steeped for 30 minutes. You can add a table spoon of raw organic honey if you need more sweet. I like mine iced, so I pour it into a pitcher and chill, or add ice.

You will find that your taste buds, and your health are fully taken care of. So drink up!!!!
